Happy Guru Purnima!
Full moon is in Sagittarius/Pūrvāṣhāḍha: Honor your teachers by living your highest purpose in service to others.
it's thursday, july 10, & moon is full as full in sagittarius (or will be when it maxes out this afternoon), in the starspace (pie slice of sag sky) called pūrvāṣhāḍha. it's not any full moon but guru purnima, the full moon that honors the guru, our teachers/guides/mentors/protectors. not only that, but sagittarius & thursday are ruled by jupiter, whose sanskrit name is guru. & if that's not enough, jupiter, conjunct sun in gemini, is sending his benefic light to the moon, which also means that all three sattvic planets (sun, moon & jupiter), whose highest qualities are purity, goodness & balance, are interacting bigly today. so. ...
• our first teachers were our parents & include anyone who has educated us, taught us skills, helped us align with our dharma, supported us during challenging times, anyone who shined a light on the truth of who we are, connected us to the divine & the divine light within.
• sagittarius vibrates with the frequency of knowledge & of our attunement to our highest purpose.
• sun & jupiter are in gemini, which vibrates with the frequency of "just the facts, ma'am."
• pūrvāṣhāḍha means "early victory," as in the victory that comes from manifesting that thing within us that is dying to be born, dying to see the light of day. it is ruled by apas, goddess of all the waters, as in the ocean of cosmic consciousness, of which we are a drop, but a part all the same, reminding us of our connection to something greater than ourselves.
• while jupiter invites us to think big as big, & pūrvāṣhāḍha reminds us of the unique gifts we are here to bring forth, saturn, who is gazing at the moon from pisces, reminds us not to get a big head about it, not to be too self-centered, that the combination of our unique gifts with service is how we fulfill our personal dharma.
questions to ponder:
• what is preventing me from embodying my highest purpose?
• what gift(s) am i holding back from the world?
• how does my highest purpose serve the world?
• am i cherry-picking facts to support my beliefs/opinions?
• am i honoring my teachers by living my best life, embodying all the wisdom they blessed me with?
• how can i better attune with my dharma?
do take time to honor your teachers in your own way today, which can mean taking a few moments to think of each of them & say "thank you," perhaps while gazing at the full moon.
wishing you a most enlightening guru purnima!
om namo gurave namah!
TL;DR
our teachers are those, starting with our parents, who taught us, guided us, nourished us, mentored us. • our highest purpose is connected to that thing that keeps calling to us until we finally answer. • saturn reminds us that fulfilling our personal dharma entails humility. • take time today to think of any & all of your teachers & say “thank you.”
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌕🙏✨
