It's an A-Side, B-Side Kinda Day
Moon is in Sagittarius + it's Venus' day: Align with your highest purpose, our powers to create love & art are highlighted for the next two-ish weeks.
it's friday, june 13, & moon is in sagittarius, in the starspace called pūrvāṣāḍhā until about noon, then uttarāṣāḍhā. sagittarius reminds us of our highest purpose, our reason for being, our dharma, our righteous path through life. one of my long-ago teachers once pointed out that the serial-killing forensic expert, dexter, in dexter was just doing his dharma—a reminder that dharma doesn't judge, that one person's high-minded path could be criminal to another. to me, that sounds like war is the answer to peace, but, hey, what do i know—i'll leave it up to a higher authority!
pūrvāṣāḍhā & uttarāṣāḍhā, as you might suspect, are two halves of the same coin, the A side & B side of what were once known as 45's (you can look those up!). pūrva is the star of early victory, uttara later or ultimate victory. pūrva is ruled by apas, goddess of the cosmic waters—i.e., consciousness—who helps us connect with the current of our inner knowing, bring that which is still fermenting in the magic dark out into the light of day; uttara is ruled by the viswadevas, bascially all the cosmic forces, all the good juju in heaven, who help us rally all of our inner energies to realize our goal & also remind us that we can always ask for help, that the universe has our back, that if we ask, we will receive, that we don't have to go it alone, we have a lifeline, a "phone a friend" voucher. pūrva invites us to be single-minded about our goal, uttara to persevere: they're a one-two punch to bring 'er home.
it's the third lunar day (tithi), the third phase of the waning moon, which has a quality of nourishment, as in nourishing our seed of inspiration, feeding our act of creation & creativity.
friday is ruled by venus, the planet of art & love, so friday is always a good day to get your venus experience on. meanwhile, she moves into the portion of aries called bharaṇī this morning for almost two weeks. bharaṇī derives from the sanskrit verb that means "to bear" & is represented by a vulva, the portal through which children, the ultimate human creation (which is not to judge the creations of people, myself included, who don't bear children!), are born. how might you tap into this energy to birth something, including, perhaps, a new relationship?
TL;DR
dharma is unique to each person—one person’s dharma might be to rule the country, another’s to be a schoolteacher. • to bring what’s dying to be born into the light of day, don’t be afraid to use your “phone a friend” voucher. • the power of nourishment is on your side today. • love, make art, dance, sing, eat delicious food, get out in nature!
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌕🙏✨
