Learn by Doing
Moon is in Gemini + it's Jupiter's day: Try something new just for the fun of it; take advantage of the Saturn-Jupiter double-whammy focused on Virgo while you can.
it's thursday, may 1, & moon is in gemini, in the starspace (pie slice of gemini sky) called ardra. gemini vibrates with the frequency of playfulness & curiosity, of discriminating intelligence & the ability to make an effort. it's the natural third sign of the zodiac, which is associated with siblings & our friend groups, both of which can bring competition & comparison, showing us who we are, emboldening our ego. gemini is where we test & expand the boundaries of our identity by trying new things, exploring new physical or intellectual realms, & talking about our experiences with others. by doing so, we learn what our strengths & weaknesses are, what we like or love enough to keep pursuing.
"i am always doing what i cannot do yet, in order to learn how to do it."—vincent van gogh
what might you learn today ... just for the fun of it? how might you expand your notions of self?
ardra brings the power to, well, make an effort & is ruled by rudra, god of storms & chaos, who wants us to (sometimes whether we like it or not) effort through the chaos of our lives to transform ourselves into our best possible selves, make forward progress on our earth journey. that's not to say that we aren't already perfect as we are—just that there's always room for improvement, that there are always challenges to face, right?
it's the fifth lunar day (tithi), the fifth phase of the waxing moon, which supports us in completing our work, reaching our goal, with inspiration & creativity. like thursday, this tithi is ruled by jupiter, the guru, who transforms (!) the darkness into light, gives shape to the amorphous. & this tithi + thursday produces a siddha yoga, the superpower to get 'er done.
thursday is ruled by jupiter, our source of wisdom, so it's a good day to honor teachers & their teachings, to read scripture or other uplifting material. meanwhile, jupiter has just two more weeks in taurus & since saturn moved into pisces a coupla weeks ago, both planets have been casting their gaze on virgo, bringing both dharma (jupiter) & karma (saturn) to whichever house virgo represents in your chart & to whichever planets are there. jupiter brings purpose & inspiration, saturn a reality check & structure. do make hay of this magical double-gaze, which will soon shift to sagittarius.
TL;DR
do what you can’t yet do in order to learn how to do it. • challenges are the means to transformation. • inspiration & creativity will help you complete whatever needs completing. • honor teachers & their teachings by connecting to wisdom sources.
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌒🙏✨
