Our Shadow Knows
Moon is in Scorpio + it's Jupiter's day: Light is the best disinfectant, faith comes from experiencing wisdom in action.
it's thursday, february 20, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace (pie slice of scorpio sky) called anuradha. scorpio vibrates with the frequency of our worst fears & paranoias. it's where the ghouls & demons of the innermost nooks & crannies of our psyche come out to play. it's where we get to confront the parts of ourselves we'd prefer to keep hidden in the back of the closet behind the bag of clothes we mean to donate. in short, scorpio is shadowland. we get to remember that the brightest light casts the darkest shadow & that light is the best disinfectant!
anuradha is ruled by mitra, the divine friend, just as radha (anu + radha = just like radha) was to krishna. but/& that friendship, that love, didn't come without challenges, without tests, without a lot of opposition from everyone—gopis, her mother-in-law (yeah, she was married!), his grandmother. yet her love & devotion were indefatigable. she persevered. we generally don't appreciate anything that comes easy, isn't it? the love between radha & krishna was sweeter b/c of their trials & tribulations. what/whom are you sooooo devoted to that each test only strengthens your devotion? what/whom would you never give up on?
it's the eighth lunar day (tithi), the eighth phase of the waning moon, the halfway point of moon's journey between full & new, light & dark. the presiding goddess is tvarita, who balances the opposing forces of chaos & order, destruction & creation, light & dark, protecting the universe, holding it all together. there is no creation without destruction, we wouldn't know light without darkness, what's good without evil.
speaking of radha & krishna: radha was born on the eighth tithi of the waxing moon, krishna on the eighth tithi of the waning moon. they were complete opposites, but love united them as one.
we may experience inner conflict as opposing forces duke it out. take the fight out of them by embracing all, uniting all in our oneness, especially, given scorpio's influence, our shadow, acknowledging that our shadow knows something we need to hear. what might that be?
thursday is ruled by jupiter, whose sanskrit name is "guru," the one who gives us wisdom, which gives us faith & thus hope. not blind faith, but faith that comes from understanding & respecting the teachings & trusting in where they are taking us.
TL;DR
when our shadow comes out to play, the best thing to do is play! • what/whom are you devoted to & how do you express that devotion? • creation & destruction are balancing forces—how can you balance them within you? • tap into, honor, the wisdom sources that give you hope.
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌗🙏✨
