Paying It Backward & Forward
Moon is in Leo + it's Jupiter's day: Be your biggest, baddest self for the sake of others, not just you: zooming out helps us see the wisdom of our ways.
it's thursday, january 16, & moon is in leo, in the starspace (pie slice of leo sky) called magha. leo vibrates with the frequency of our sovereignty, of our kingly-, queenly-, quingly-ness. whereas cancer is the sign of the divine feminine, of internal, reflective energy, leo is the sign of the divine masculine, external, active energy. cancer is the unconditionally loving good mother, leo the good, protective father, who wields his power, stands in his power for the benefit of all, not for his own ego gratification or accumulation of baubles, not to fill his coffers so he can build a private bunker & save himself from the destruction he is wreaking on the planet to fill those coffers, but to create a container in which others can thrive.
magha means "mighty" & is ruled by the pitris, our ancestors, all those who came before us & paved the way for us to be who we are now. this asterism reminds us that we are but a link in the chain, which from a genealogical POV extends all the way back to adam & eve. it helps keep our ego in check by reminding us that our greatness, our mightiness, is not self-generated, that we stand on the shoulders of others, & it reminds us that being all we can be is how we pay the debt we owe our forebears & how we give those who will come after us a similar kind of boost.
it's the third lunar day (tithi), the third phase of the waning moon, which is associated with shiva & gauri/parvati, the cosmic father & mother, who are said to have been married on this tithi. it brings a quality of nourishment & supports us in nourishing our home life, as parents do, which, as parents know, doesn't always go smoothly, but persevere they must!
thursday is ruled by the big guy, jupiter, who helps us see the big picture, helps us zoom out & get some perspective, gives us the wisdom to not sweat the small stuff, to see that each small thing has in its own way contributed to the expansiveness of who we are now. i mean, do you really want to be the same person you were ten or fifteen or twenty or more years ago?
TL;DR
owning our sovereignty is an act of generosity not selfishness. • knowing we owe all those who came before us a debt keeps our ego in check. • nourish home & family & don’t be surprised if that doesn’t go smoothly. • don’t sweat the small stuff—look at the big picture.
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌖🙏✨
