Shower Yourself with Bliss
Moon in Taurus, where it will be full as full tomorrow night, is all about our happy, near- & long-term.
it's friday, december 13, & moon is in taurus, in the starspace (pie slice of taurus sky) called krittika, & we have a full moon in taurus/mrigashira late tomorrow night, so lots to cover! taurus vibrates with the frequency of happiness, of ultimately being happy for no reason but/& in the meanwhile deriving happiness from stuff, people, experiences, feeling nourished & comforted by the goodness of life. which doesn't mean life is a bed of roses, that there isn't war & poverty & love gone wrong.
in the netflix docu about her, martha stewart shared her (perhaps cynical?!) philosophy on happiness: if you want to be happy for a year, get married; for a decade, get a dog; for a lifetime, make a garden.
krittika is ruled by agni, sacred fire, & gives us the insight & firepower to see through & burn through what isn't true for us, to turn it to ash. mrigashira (yes, blasting past rohini—there's only so much time & space!) is ruled by soma, the sacred nectar that brings eternal bliss—happiness for no reason!—which is what we are forever restlessly searching for "out there" ... until we realize that external sources of happiness (food, sex, art, paragliding) are fleeting, ephemeral.
it's the fourteenth lunar day (tithi), the last phase of the waxing moon, which is ruled by a goddess whose name translates as "garlanded with flames," her flames, like agni, related to sacrifice, purification, releasing, ashing to ashes.
friday, like taurus, is ruled by venus, so you know what to do!
full moon in taurus is opposite scorpio, where sun has been shining a light on our most irrational fears & mercury has been helping us rationally unpack them. what needs to go, be released when the moon maxes out? what false narratives are you willing to sacrifice? what is actually making you miserable, not bringing you closer to bliss? what is making life taste sour rather than sweet? what does happiness mean for you, feel like?
bonus trax: the geminid meteor showers (actually asteroid showers!) peak in the wee hours before dawn tonight & tomorrow (which is perhaps why my boy kitty has been waking me up then!) & full moon is a great good time to clear your mala. i just got a gorgeously created rudraksha mala from malaology, so it hasn't had time to accrue bad juju, but if yours has. ...
TL;DR
what really makes you happy, really happy? what does it feel like? what is preventing you from feeling truly happy, feeling blissful, all the time? what do you need to let go of to bring you closer to that feeling all or more of the time? i know—it’s a tall order!
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌕🙏✨
