Take Pride in Your Pride
Moon is in Leo + it's Venus's day: Be your most sovereign self, &, um, feel free to party like an animal!
it's friday, december 20, & moon is in leo, in the starspace called magha. leo, as everyone knows, is represented by the lion, the king of the jungle, & it is under the sway of this leonine energy that we get to be our most kingly. regardless of gender we can all feel into our sovereignty, take pride in our pride (!), in our responsibility for those in our domain, those we have dominion over, in ruling with a sense of noblesse oblige, not for the sake of accruing power for its own sake or for accruing stuff the way, let's face it, most politicians (kings of their domains) do today.
magha means "mighty," & this asterism brings a message about, well, being our mightiest selves, of stepping fully into our power, which means stepping fully & unabashedly into our uniqueness, our individuality. it means having absolute dominion over ourselves, which is the only way we can have pure dominion over others.
"as the quote from epictetus suggests, 'you will never have a greater or lesser dominion than that over yourself. … the height of a man’s success is gauged by his self-mastery; the depth of his failure by his self-abandonment.' this quote highlights the importance of self-mastery in achieving success and happiness."—socrates
it's the sixth lunar day (tithi), the sixth phase of the waning moon, which gives us the ability to realize our goals on a material level, to bring form to them, solidify them, make them as hard & bright & beautiful as diamonds. this tithi as the quality of passion & so resonates well with passionate venus. what are you feeling passionate about? how do you want to apply that energy? what is still more jell-o-like than solid?
friday is ruled by venus, planet of earthly delights, of being IN-joy, the joy of being an embodied being, which is why friday is vedic date—or party!—night, not saturday, which is ruled by old man & party pooper saturn, who would keep us home meditating on our cushions.
bonus track: the dark days are over! well, with the winter solstice tomorrow they will at least start being less dark, as the light begins returning to our life with the sun's shift in direction. happy first day of winter, everyone! may it (finally!) snow!
TL;DR
be your most kingly, regardless of gender. • self-mastery is the measure of success. • solidify jell-o-like goals. • it’s vedic date night! • happy solstice tomorrow!
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌗🙏✨
