Taming the Dragon
Moon is in Scorpio + it's Jupiter's day: Yes, another day of Earth school—courage, my friends!
it's thursday, january 23, & moon moves from libra into scorpio this morning while being supported & transported by the starspace (pie slice of sky connecting libra & scorpio) called vishakha. scorpio vibrates with the frequency of our darkest fears & most paranoid paranoias—it's where, after the sociability of libra, we second-guess ourselves, wonder if we overshared, exposed too much of ourselves, wish we could take back what we said or did that was witnessed by others. yikes! but/& scorpio is ruled by mars, who gives us the courage to hold space for our emotional discomfort, to unpack the reality of the situation, to ask our fears what the heck they want to teach us, why they are showing up. & here's the thing about fear: it just wants a little attention, a little love—if we can embrace it, we can tame it, even turn it into a friend, a beautiful gift.
“perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.”—rainer maria rilke, "letters to a young poet"
vishakha is the only asterism ruled by two deities, indra & agni, the king & the priest, which traditionally were sort of codependent, or, you might say, united in purpose: the king needed the blessings of the priest to fulfill his agenda, the priest needed the king's financial resources so he could fulfill his priestly duties. this asterism reminds us that uniting both our ambition & our devotion gives us the ability to power through obstacles and achieve our objective. but/& with all things indra, don't over do it!
it's the tenth lunar day (tithi), the tenth phase of the waning moon, which is connected to dharma, which can mean living a righteous life, one in alignment with the natural law of the universe, & also living in alignment with our own true purpose. it's a good day to realign, get back on track.
thursday is ruled by jupiter, whose sanskrit name is guru, the one who dispels (ru) darkness (gu), aka ignorance. guru can be a teacher but is also a principle, the principle that everything—people, situations, emotions, etc.—is a teaching opportunity, gives us an opportunity to evolve. what opportunity might arise today?
TL;DR
transform your fears into gifts by facing them head on. • call on all your inner forces to achieve your objective. • realign with your highest purpose. • jupiter reminds us that we are here to grow, evolve.
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌗🙏✨
