The Angel Is in the Details
Moon is in Virgo, then Libra + it's Jupiter's day: Put your life in order so you can IN-joy being sociable later; magnify knowledge & abundance by sharing & giving.
it's thursday, july 3, & moon moves from virgo this morning into libra midafternoon while being supported & transported by the starspace called citrā. virgo, ruled by meticulous mercury, is associated with purity & cultivation, cleanliness & order; libra, ruled by pleasure-oriented venus, with being social, thus our relationships. interestingly, venus is debilitated in virgo, where she feels constrained by too many rules, too much emphasis on being a good girl, chaste. with venus now in her other home sign of taurus, she is feeling empowered to love, to kick up her heels & IN-joy. let's get our lives as shipshape as possible in the first half of the day, so we can live our best venus life later.
citrā means "brilliant," "bright," "artful" & is ruled by tvashtar, the cosmic architect, who conceived & executed the production of fantastical yet practical objects, like the flying palace (vimana) that conveyed rama into battle—objects that were both useful (satisfying mercury-ruled virgo's practicality) & beautiful (venus-ruled libra's high aesthetic). whence came tvashtar's inspiration? from the void, from the magic dark of his consciousness, where he saw what wanted to be materialized, just as michelangelo "saw the angel in the marble & carved until i set him free."
this asterism invites us to allow the magic to arise & reminds us that we are ultimately our most brilliant, most artful creations & it is the greatest work of our lives to set ourselves completely free.
what shape waits
in the seed of you
to grow and spread
its branches
against a future sky?
is it waiting
in the fertile sea?
in the trees
beyond the house?
in the life
you can imagine
for yourself?

it's the ninth lunar day (tithi), the ninth phase of the waxing moon, which in one tradition is ruled by the nagas, in another by durga. what's the connection? the nagas are serpent deities who transform our shadow qualities into insights; durga gives us the strength & compassion, holds us with unconditional but tough love, to go where we need to go, which today could be into the darkest nooks & crannies of our consciousness. bring a flashlight!
thursday is jupiter's day. his gifts include knowledge & abundance. if you want more of what jupiter's got & gives:
• teach someone(s) something
• read from or listen to sources of wisdom (got bhagavad gita?)
• feel into your "i've got plenty"-ness by donating time or money or stuff
• honor your teachers by making sure you're putting their wisdom into practice
TL:DR
we may feel rule-bound in the morning but free free free later in the day. • you are your own greatest creation—how’s that going? • a little shadow work goes a long way. • feel into your “i’ve got plenty”-ness.
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌓🙏✨
