The Edge of Glory
Moon is in Scorpio + it's Moon's day: Vulnerability is a great teacher; kindness is a flow.
it's monday, june 9, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace (pie slice of scorpio sky) called anuradha. scorpio is, well, there's no beating around the bush, where our vulnerability lives, & vulnerability, our emotional/psychic edge, is a great teacher, brings the glory of transformation. if we can be with it. if we can be curious. face our fears & insecurities. stand on the precipice without flinching.
"the universe is made up of experiences that are designed to burn out your attachment, your clinging, to pleasure, to pain, to fear, to all of it. & as long as there is a place where you're vulnerable, the universe will find a way to confront you with it."—baba ram dass
what might be a teaching moment for you today? where's your edge? how close are you willing to get to it? how much do you long for the glory of transformation?
anuradha is ruled by mitra, the divine friend, whose dharma is loyalty, who doesn't do superficial, doesn't do half measures, is all in: whatever or whomever he dedicates himself to he does wholeheartedly. this asterism brings a message about choosing carefully whom or what we give our heart to.
it's the fourteenth lunar day (tithi), the fourteenth phase of the waxing moon, which means we're on the precipice of a full moon. this tithi is ruled by kali in one tradition, rudra in another, both fierce deities of transformation, neither of whom took any prisoners, & has the quality of angada (self-sacrifice). go for it!
monday is ruled by the moon, who is gentle, kind, compassionate & connected. moon is often better at giving than receiving but is a watery planet, goes with the flow, is the flow. when moon receives, she does so with gratitude, all the while thinking of others, of how she can give back.
this flow that connects can be expressed by the igbo saying onye m ga-egbuli m ga rio chineke ka o nyere m aka, which can be translated as, "may another person do for you what you've done for me."*
monday is a good day to offer the gift of kindness or to receive it, to be in the flow of & perpetuate it.
*no, i do not speak igbo, but i recently read two novels—purple hibiscus & half of a yellow sun—by the nigerian writer chimamanda ngozi adichie, who does.
TL;DR
how close to the precipice of your fears & insecurities are you willing to stand? • when you give your heart to someone or something, make sure you can give it 100%. • sacrifice is the key word to prep for tomorrow’s full moon. • receiving kindness can be a kind of giving.
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌔🙏✨
