The Wild World of Words
Moon is in Taurus + it's Mercury's day: "Contentment" is the word of the day.
it's wednesday, march 5, & moon is in taurus, in the starspace called krittika until midday mountain time, then rohini. taurus vibrates with the frequency of contentment, which comes from realizing we have everything we need. one definition of yoga is the state of not wanting anything—not one more scoop of ice cream, not a bigger house, not another ski vacation. it's where we—hopefully, inevitably!—experience the economy of enough, of "i have enough." in patanjali's eight-limbed system of yoga, contentment is known as santosha & is one of the niyamas, the five guidances for how to show up in & engage with the world. on a scale of 1 to 10, how content are you?
krittika brings the fire of clarity & discernment to help us burn away what doesn't serve us, but/& can also give us a tongue that burns like fire! rohini brings an urge to create & procreate, to grow, to expand ourselves spiritually & materially, but/& can also make others jealous when we do!
it's the seventh lunar day (tithi), the seventh phase of the waxing moon, which is presided over by shivaduti devi, aka "the messenger of shiva," who gives us steadiness of mind à la shiva &—yay!—resonates best with wednesday & loves rohini, producing siddha yoga, a combination that supports accomplishment. what do you want to accomplish? just put your mind to it!
wednesday is ruled by communicative mercury, who uses his words responsibly, doesn't just read headlines or gather info from one media outlet, but does due diligence, checks facts, checks sources, before he shares what he has to share with others, lest he accidentally create a frenzy of fear. yet:
"words are the wildest, freest, most irresponsible, most un-teachable of all things. of course, you can catch them & sort them & place them in alphabetical order in dictionaries, but words do not live in dictionaries; they live in the mind. if you want proof of this, consider how often in moments of emotion when we most need words we find none. yet there there is the dictionary; there at our disposal are some half-a-million words in alphabetical order. but can we use them? no, because words do not live in dictionaries, they live in the mind."—virginia woolf
TL;DR
repeat after me, “i have enough, i have enough.” • clarity, discernment, creativity & growth are on the menu today. • the seventh tithi + rohini + wednesday = we can accomplish whatever we put our mind to. • do your due diligence so you can communicate responsibly.
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌓🙏✨
