To Thine Own Self Be True
Moon is in Leo + it's Mars' day: Lionhearted is purehearted; strength & courage come in many flavors.
it's tuesday, may 6, & moon is in leo, in the starspace (pie slice of leo sky) called purvaphalguni. under the sway of gemini, we experiment to discover what we're good at, what resonates/peaks our interest. under the sway of cancer, something sticks, vibes on a heart level. under the sway of leo, our passion becomes our north star, the vision & foundation for our kingdom, for how we live, how we show up in life. when we look outside ourselves, to the opinions of others, say, or to merely achieving material/worldly riches or power, our kingdom might as well be built on an earthquake fissure, we act out of alignment, our light, filtered through impurities, is hazy like smog. leo aspires to be nothing less than purehearted, aka lionhearted, his mantra being "to thine own self be true."
"your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakens."—carl jung
purvaphalguni reminds us that all work & no play makes jack a dull boy, that even a king needs a day off, that the harder we work, the harder we get to play, or rest. so don't feel guilty about IN-joying some R&R if that's what's calling.
it's the tenth lunar day (tithi), the tenth phase of the waxing moon, which, like leo, is associated with dharma, our highest purpose, which isn't always clear to us, or which we perhaps sometimes resist. this tithi supports us in looking at the patterns in our life, the recurring events, to learn greater truths about ourselves & what our path is. confusion is just a sign that the silt of your inner waters is getting stirred up. be patient. wait for the silt to settle, the waters to clear.
if your path seems harder, maybe it's b/c your calling is higher.
tuesday is ruled by mars, who infuses the day with strength & courage, which we can use to muscle up, develop greater physical prowess, run marathons, lift cars off babies; to rise to external challenges, like setbacks at work or cultural/social/political frustrations; or to face down our own shortcomings & ignorance—ignorance not meaning "stupidity," but the inability to see the truth of who we are & how the world is. where on that spectrum do you find yourself today?
TL;DR
let your heart be the foundation on which you build your kingdom. • even kings need R&R. • if your path seems hard, maybe it’s b/c your calling is higher? • have the courage to overcome challenges, even/especially the ones that come from within.
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌓🙏✨
