What Needs-Wants-Desires to Pop?
Jupiter is retrograde until Feb. 4: Time to reconsider what we believe & whether it's in alignment with our highest intentions.
it's thursday, october 10, & moon is in sagittarius, in the starspace (portion of sag) called purvashadha. infused with the wisdom & inspiration of jupiter, & opposite gemini, which is infused with the discriminating intelligence of mercury, sagittarius is where our belief system lives & gets reality-checked, gets careful consideration. with jupiter retrograde until feb. 4, we've got plenty of time to reexamine & reconsider what we believe & whether it aligns with us internally, whether it is taking us higher or lower.
"whether through careful consideration spawned by books & spirited debate over coffee at two in the morning, or simply from a normal proclivity, we must all eventually develop a fundamental framework, some reasonably coherent system of causes & effects that will help us make sense not only of momentous events, but of all the little actions & interactions that constitute our daily lives—be they deliberate or spontaneous, inevitable or unforeseen."—"a gentleman in moscow" (yes, plugging this great read again!)
purvashadha means "early" (purva) "victory" (ashadha) & reminds us that no battle is won in one fell swoop, that it is a long march from point a (our goal) to point b (achieving our goal), but/& if we want to reach it, we'd better start walking ... now. this asterism invites us to pay attention to the kernel of inspiration within us that, like a kernel of corn, is dying to pop, burst into life, take up space in the world. what wants-desires-needs to burst forth from you? if you want inspiration about taking up space, i couldn't recommend this post from suleika jouad's substack, "the isolation journals," by nadia bolz-weber, more.
it's the eighth lunar day (tithi), the eighth phase of the waxing moon, which means moon is halfway between being totally dark & bright AF. this tithi supports us in embracing our own darkness & light, & also the darkness & light of others—we are none of us without flaws, without shadow, & we are none of us defined by one or the other.
thursday is ruled, like sag, by jupiter, whose sanskrit name is "guru." a guru is the one who dispels our darkness, guides us toward the light. guru can be a person but is also a principle, the idea that everyone & everything serves our evolution onward. ultimately, the guru gives us the wisdom to know that we are our own gurus, & with jupiter Rx, it's time to start looking within rather than without.
TL;DR
reality-check your belief system(s). • let that which is within you be born & take up space. • embrace the good, the bad & the ugly in yourself, in others, in the world. • trust your inner guru.
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌓🙏✨
