Who's Really in Charge?
Moon is in Pisces + it's Venus' day: Zach Bush has thoughts on vision boards, Venus has ideas about what to indulge in.
it's friday, may 23, & moon is in pisces, in the starspace (pie slice of pisces sky) called revati. pisces, the sign of imagination & surrender, is opposite virgo, the sign of control & details. on a recent podcast, dr. zach bush, who knows more than a thing or two about surrendering, about being a conduit for the divine, briefly mentioned vision boards, which have long been a manifestation tool for some. he, surprisingly, slammed them (well, gently, b/c zach is nothing if not gentle), saying that they actually limit our imagination, what we are open to receiving, what we can expect, that they are actually a way to control our future, or think we are controlling it. i have a friend, & you may too, who makes a vision board every year & says everything she puts on it manifests. i have a vision board from 2018 (!) & many of those desires are still elusive. does she just have superpowers i don't? is she deluded? who's really in control, us or the divine?
revati is ruled by pushan, lord of cattle & paths, who protects the herd as he leads it to new pastures. as this asterism is the last one of the last sign of the zodiac, where one life ends before a new one begins, this is also a metaphor for the soul's journey. protect & guide or be protected & guided. what new pastures might be calling?
it's the eleventh lunar day (tithi), the eleventh phase of the waning moon, which is connected to spiritual practices like meditation. a friend recently posted about her recommitment to her practice & how she's focused simply on being present, breath by breath. that meditation regulates our nervous system, literally changes our brain, rewires it so that we pause before reacting, take a breath instead of spiraling. each moment of presence creates new neural pathways, trails that whisper, you "don't have to collapse. or explode. or disappear." mindfulness can reduce the size of the amygdala (our fear center), grow grey matter in areas related to self-awareness & empathy, improve memory, decision-making & emotional regulation. "it’s not one big breakthrough. it’s tiny choices, repeated often," she said, adding that "you're not just 'calming down.' you're participating in your own transformation."
friday is ruled by venus, whose key words include "love," "art," "beauty" & "harmony." with venus still exalted (feeling smart & powerful) in pisces, it's a great good day to get your venus on!
TL;DR
are you limiting the powers of your imagination? • be a shepherd for, or allow yourself to be guided by, others. • mindfulness is a way to participate in your own transformation. • venus loves love, art, beauty & harmony, among others things.
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌗🙏✨
