Crab Walk, Anyone?
Moon is in Cancer + it's Venus' day: Boundaries are not anathema to unconditional love; do what you love with (or without!) the ones you love.
it's friday, may 30, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace (pie slice of cancer sky) called punarvasu until about 10 a.m. MDT, then pushya. cancer vibrates with the frequency of unconditional love, the kind a parent has for their child, the kind that asks nothing in return. as the fourth sign of the natural zodiac, cancer is associated with the heart & is represented by a crab, which has a hard shell to protect its tender heart & also the ability to scurry sideways to avoid danger. one danger for cancer is overgiving, being so emotionally connected to others & their needs, so empathetic, so overflowing with love & the desire to "make it better" that they forget about themselves & their own needs, end up feeling drained & resentful when they do. cancer gets to remember to put their own oxygen masks on first. moon is going to be in cancer until midmorning sunday, so let's do remember our self-care even as we care deeply for others.
pushya (see yesterday's post for punarvasu) is ruled by brihaspati, the priest/guru to the gods, who nourishes his disciples with wisdom. its symbol is the teats of a cow, another source of nourishment. whatever we nourish grows in accordance with how we are nourishing it—with fresh, organic food or mcdonald's, sattvic wisdom or social media bingeing, high intentions or low.
it's the fourth lunar day (tithi), the fourth phase of the waxing moon, until about 10 a.m., then the fifth. the fourth tithi gives us a little more time to embrace obstacles as gifts. the fifth has the quality of pushti (strength), supports us in nourishing what we want to grow. &, yes, it has the same verbal root (puṣ, पुष्, "nourish, foster, rear") as pushya. 'nuff said!
friday is ruled by venus, planet of earthly delights, so friday is always a good day to do what we love with (or without if that's how we're rolling) the ones we love. meanwhile, venus is in the gandanta, the treacherous karmic zone, as she moves out of pisces, where she's been hanging out & exalted since late january, into aries. relationship-wise, this shift can be one from other-centeredness to self-centeredness, so don't be surprised. & don't be surprised if karmic issues around love & creativity arise. try not to tug at the knot ("gandanta" = "the end of the knot"), which will just make it tighter, but to gently loosen it by being curious & allowing.
TL;DR
give without overgiving—keep your own tank filled up. • how you nurture what you want to grow will determine what & how it grows. • it’s a double-good day to nourish. • venus is in the gandanta, so don’t be surprised if unresolved issues around love or creativity arise—allow, don’t resist.
& that’s your daily bliss! IN-joy! 🌓🙏✨
